Goals

The project OncoWorkstation aims to the improvement of the quality and efficiency of treatment of cancer patients in clinical trials. It provides support for oncologists and other staff in developing and randomizing therapy plans. Through access via the competence network Internet Portal (CMS) and the standardized preparation of current trial protocols and treatment schemes it is hoped that a greater number of patients will be treated in trials.
This will be achieved through the following sub-goals:

• Central information providing for current oncological trial protocols in Germany
• Standardization of oncological trial protocols to make them easier to read, compare, understand, and administer
• Direct connection of the protocols with the therapy planning component
• End-to-end support for all tasks from randomizing a protocol to treatment issues
• Web accessible variant for information purposes and local installation for treatment planning and secure storage of patient related data
